- “Customer,” “traveler,” “you,” “your” refers to any person booking or participating in our services.
“Services” refers to self-drive journeys, itineraries, travel arrangements, accommodations, vehicle hire, activities, and related travel experiences arranged by us.
2. Booking and Payments
- A booking is confirmed only once we receive a completed booking form and the required deposit.
- Final payment must be made by the deadline stated in your booking confirmation or invoice. Failure to do so may result in cancellation without refund.
- Prices are quoted in the currency stated at the time of booking and may be subject to change due to exchange rates, government taxes, fuel surcharges, or supplier adjustments.
3. Cancellations and Refunds
Customer Cancellations
- Cancellation fees may apply depending on how far in advance the booking is canceled.
- Refund eligibility and amounts are determined by the cancellation policy provided at the time of booking.
Company Cancellations
- We reserve the right to cancel, reschedule, or modify journeys due to unforeseen circumstances such as safety concerns, weather, supplier issues, or events beyond our control.
- In such cases, we may offer a refund, credit, or alternative arrangement at our discretion.
- No refunds are provided for unused services, early departures, or no-shows.
4. Travel Insurance
We strongly recommend that all travelers obtain comprehensive travel insurance covering medical expenses, trip cancellation, delays, vehicle excess, and personal belongings. Uncharted Roads is not responsible for costs incurred due to insufficient or absent insurance coverage.
5. Passports, Visas, and Health Requirements
- You are responsible for ensuring you have valid passports, visas, and required entry documents for all destinations visited.
- We may provide general guidance, but final responsibility rests with the traveler.
- Uncharted Roads is not liable for denied entry, delays, or costs arising from incomplete or incorrect documentation.
6. Tour Inclusions and Exclusions
Inclusions
Services included in your journey are clearly outlined in your itinerary or booking confirmation.
Exclusions
Unless specifically stated, exclusions may include:
- International flights
- Visas and entry fees
- Travel insurance
- Fuel and tolls
- Personal expenses
- Optional activities and gratuities
7. Changes to Itineraries
- We reserve the right to make reasonable changes to itineraries due to operational, safety, or environmental factors.
- Where possible, suitable alternatives of equal value will be provided.
- No refunds are issued for changes outside our control.
8. Traveler Responsibilities
By booking with Uncharted Roads, you agree to:
- Provide accurate and complete personal information
- Comply with local laws, customs, and driving regulations
- Follow safety instructions and route guidance provided
- Take responsibility for damages, fines, or violations caused by your actions
9. Health and Fitness
- Some journeys involve physical activity, remote travel, or challenging terrain.
- You are responsible for ensuring you are medically fit to participate.
- Any medical conditions, disabilities, or special requirements must be disclosed at the time of booking.
- We reserve the right to refuse participation if a condition poses a risk to the traveler or others.
10. Liability Disclaimer
- Uncharted Roads acts as an arranger and agent for third-party suppliers such as accommodation providers, vehicle rental companies, and activity operators.
- We are not liable for the acts, omissions, or negligence of third-party providers.
- To the maximum extent permitted by law, our liability is limited to the amount paid for the specific service in question.
11. Force Majeure
We are not responsible for delays, changes, or cancellations caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to natural disasters, pandemics, extreme weather, political unrest, strikes, or government actions.
12. Intellectual Property
All content on our website—including text, images, graphics, and logos—remains the property of Go New Zealand Tours. It may not be copied, modified, or distributed without prior written consent.
13. Privacy Policy
Personal data is collected and processed in accordance with our Privacy Policy. By using our services, you consent to the collection and use of your information as outlined therein.
